April 18, 2006, was the 100th anniversary of the Great
Earthquake and Fire of 1906. Geologists tell us
there is a 62% chance of a magnitude 6.7 or greater earthquake hitting the
Bay Area in the next 30 years. But there's no way to know when. It could
be today.
